A well known American singer and songwriter, Christina Aguilera was born on December 18, 1980 in Staten Island, New York, to Fausto Wagner Xavier Aguilera and Shelly Loraine Fidler. Aguilera always wanted to be a performer.

In 1998, Christina recorded the song “Reflection” for the Disney production of Mulan for which she was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award for “Best Original Song”. Same year, she signed a deal with RCA Records.

In 1999, Christina’s self titled album reached the top of the Billboard 200 and Canadian album charts. In 2000, Aguilera received the “Best New Artist” award and was also nominated for “Best Female Pop Vocal Performance”.
Aguilera’s first Spanish album, Mi Reflejo reached number one on the Latin album charts and she also won a Latin Grammy Award for “Best Female Pop Vocal Album”. Her superhit single “Ain’t No Other Man” from her third album “Back to Basics” can be heard on radio stations everywhere.
