An English actress and model, Kate Beckinsale was born in London on July 26th, 1973 to Judy Loe and Richard Beckinsale. Her father who was an well known television actor died in 1979. Kate was raised by her mother, a stage and television actress.

Kate began her acting career in a television WWII drama called One Against the Wind. In 1993, Kate appeared in the movie that was an adaptation of Shakespeare’s play “Much Ado About Nothing”. In 2001, Beckinsale was cast in the film “Pearl Harbor” that was one of the highest grossing films of its year.

In 2003, Kate starred as Selene in the film titled “Underworld” for which she was nominated for Best Actress by Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films. Recently, Beckinsale starred in a comedy-drama, Click. The actress was voted at #23 in FHM’s “100 Sexiest Women in the World” in 2006.
