Knightley’s “Atonement” chosen to open Venice
This time Keira Knightley’s film titled “Atonement” has been chosen as the opening film at the 2007 Venice Film Festival. The film is directed by Joe Wright and is based on the Ian McEwan’s novel of the same name.
Wright stated that going to the Venice film festival is just like a dream come true. For the first film titled “’Pride and Prejudice”, Wright won the BAFTA award. Atonement is the second film of the young director, Wright.
The head of the film festival, Marco Muller said that this is very first time in the history that ‘young’ director’s film will open the Venice film festival. Keira will not be part of the of the 4th “Pirates of the Caribbean” film.
